Torquay is the birthplace of crime writer Agatha Christie, and hosts the International Agatha Christie Festival. What better day out than to take the steam train to Agatha Christie's home, Greenway. If you like houses, there's Torre Abbey historic house and gardens to explore just across from The Westgate.
There's also cinemas, theatres with top shows, nightclubs, casino, tennis courts, golf, crazy golf , bowls, boat trips, gardens, Kents Cavern prehistoric caves, Model Village, Cockington Village, Paignton Zoo, and of course the fabulous sea and harbour with its wealth of activities and good shopping.
